The Meteorological Department has predicted possible thundershowers occuring in the afternoon across several areas of the country.
Accordingly, the Eastern, Uva, Central, and North Central Provinces, along with the Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts could experience thundershowers today (Sept 12).
Further, the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, and also the Galle and Matara districts are likelly to receive rains between 100 to 150 mm due to intermittent showers and thundershowers which could occur in these areas.
The Department also forecasted showers to be experienced in various parts of the country after 2 pm.
