Power and Energy Secretary Dr R M S Batagoda has provided a statement before the Presidential Commission probing state sector corruption, over alleged fraudulent transactions while importing diesel for power plants and also while purchasing electricity from private power producers.
Dr. Batagoda was questioned for a period of four hours by the Commission which is investigating into state sector corruption that is alleged to have taken place under the current government from January 15, 2015 - December 31 last year.
The Commission was established after a cabinet proposal calling for an investigation into the fraudulent dealings involving the Ceylon Electricity Board was granted approval.
