President Maithripala Sirisena has stressed that the country will not be able to move forward if the individual who takes over the Presidency in 2020 cannot create a revolutionary change.
The President while addressing the 36th General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Adminstrative Service at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre today (Mar 28) noted that the standards of the country have dropped due to constant change of governments.
He insisted that the direction in which the country is heading would go awry if efforts are not taken to resolve this situation.
Mr. Sirisena also claimed that no government has intervened to thwart acts of bribery and corruption at leading state bodies which generate a lot of revenue.
He observed that if relevant measures are taken to prevent the occurence of such corrupt acts, the government will be able to reduce the budget deficit between the country's income and expenditure.
