President Maithripala Sirisena has discussed steps to strengthen the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)'s Women's Wing, the President's Media Division said today (Jun 19).
During a meeting with the SLFP Women's Wing today, the President had pointed out that the contribution of women was vital for building a healthy society and country.
Accordingly, he had noted that the Women's Wing would be strengthened as an aspect of the party's restructuring process in order to obtain the direct contribution of its female members.
Mr. Sirisena had also ensured that the party would arrive at a respectable decision concerning the presidential polls. He had explained that the decision would not cause injustice to the party members and its supporters.
