The SLFP Central Committee has unanimously decided to give President Sirisena full authority to decide on the nature of the party’s participation in the National Government; who all will take ministerial portfolios and who will be the Leader of the Opposition. The SLFP Central Committee approved the proposal when it met today at the party headquarters in Colombo. The President will be empowered to appoint the Opposition Leader, Chief Opposition Whip and Deputy Speaker as well as SLFP Ministers to the National Government, local media reported.
