The term of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) into SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering, and Mihin Lanka has been extended upto June 30, 2019.
The extension was granted following a gazette notification issued by President Maithripala Sirisena as per the powers vested with him through Section 4 of the Commission of Inquiry Act.
The PCoI was set-up on January 31, 2018 to investigate into alleged irregularities concerning the three authorities from January 1, 2006 to January 31, 2018.
Previously, the President had extended the term of the Commission on three occassions.
