President Maithripala Srisena arrived at the Kualalumpur International Airport this afternoon on a three day state visit to Malaysia, President Media Unit said.
He was warmly welcomed on arrival by Malaysian Human Resource Development Minister Dato Sri Richard Riot Anak Jaem and senior officials. The staff members of the Sri Lanka High Commission and their family members were also present at the Airport to welcome President Sirisena. He was received with state honours that included a guard of honour at the Airport.
President Srisena also engaged in a cordial discussion with the Malaysian Human Resource Development Minister at the airport. During his visit, the President will sign several bilateral Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Malaysia.
Accordingly, MoUs will be signed on cooperation in tourism, training, research, and public administration, between the Sri Lanka Agricultural Research Policy Council and Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute, between the Ministry of Plantation Industries in Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities in Malaysia, for cooperation in culture, arts and heritage and youth development.
President Sirisena will return to Colombo on December 17.

Sri Lanka today reiterated its rejection of all United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolutions on Sri Lanka including the external evidence gathering mechanism initiated by the OHCHR.
The Minister of Power, Kumara Jayakody, stated that in the future, internationally funded projects, such as power projects, will only be carried out through government-to-government (G2G) agreements and competitive procurement.
