President Maithripala Sirisena assured that as pledged during the Presidential Elections, an environment will be created where all communities can live in peace and harmony. The President made this pledge when he participated in a religious ceremony at the Kaduruwela Jummah Muslim Mosque yesterday. Chief of the Mosque, Moulavi Muthalif conducted special prayer services and blessed the President. Addressing the large number of Muslims gathered on this occasion, the President said the responsibility of the new government is to create a country where people can live in peace, harmony and brotherhood without fear and suspicion. He said the dark shadows of the past would not be allowed to darken the future of the children.
