President Maithripala Sirisena has received cabinet approval to occupy the President's official residence in Mahagama Sekara Mawatha, after his term in office ends.
Sources said that the ministerial cabinet had also agreed to deploy Special Task Force (STF) personnel for the security of President Maithripala Sirisena after his tenure.
This was after the President had categorically sought STF security stating that he is vulnerable to threats due to his campaign against narcotics.
