President Maithripala Sirisena chaired a meeting to review the progress of the projects carried in Sri Lanka under Chinese loan schemes and the issues emerging while implementing such projects, at the President’s office on Tuesday.
The current situation and the progress of such projects were deeply evaluated while attention was given as to how to take steps in solving those issues. President Sirisena said that immediate steps will be taken by the government in order to solve the issues that have arisen while implementing the projects and to provide welfare for the people.
Secretary to the President Udaya .R. Senevirathne, General Secretary of the National Economic Council Prof. Lalith .P. Samarakoon, Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, and Chinese Ambassador, Chang Xueyuan and officials were present in this discussion.
