President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, during a meeting with artistes yesterday (Dec 23) has said he would take the maximum possible steps to improve facilities for artistes under his rule.
During the meeting, the President had stated that such steps would be taken in keeping with his manifesto which pledges to protect the country's culture and identity.
He had also requested artistes to utilise the Ranminithenna Tele Cinema Village to good effect, while pointing out that such resources had been under utilised during the previous government.
The President had also thanked all artistes who had played a supportive role in his presidential campaign.
