Update : President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued a gazette proroguing Parliament until 10 am on January 3, 2020.
Parliamentary sessions after the presidential election were initially scheduled to begin tomorrow (Dec 3).

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has signed the gazette to prorogue Parliament, sources said.
The gazette is expected to be published before midnight.
The first parliamentary session after the presidential election was scheduled to be held tomorrow (Dec 3).
