President Sirisend has appointed a former foreign affairs minister Rohitha Bogollagama as the new Governor of the Eastern Province.

Mr. Bogollagama takes over the vacancy left behind by former Governor Austin Fernando, who was appointed as the Permanent secretary to the President following the resignation of P.B. Abeykoon..
