President Maithripala Sirisena will receive an honorary degree titled "Vidvath Jana Prasadini" in an event at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre in Colombo today (Aug 29).
Issuing a press release, the Ministry of Education said that the degree would be conferred during a convocation for Prachina Panditha degree graduates.
The Ministry said that 375 persons who completed this postgraduate degree between 2012 and 2017 will recieve their certificates at the event.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will also receive an honorary degree titled "Vibudha Jana Prasadani" at the event.
