President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to establish a Professional Advisory Board on national security.
Dr Sarath Amunugama will head the Advisory Board which would comprise President's Counsels Kalinga Indatissa, and Nigel Hatch, Attorney Javed Yusuf, Dr Ram Manikkalingam, and Dr Suren Raghavan.
The Advisory Board is expected to provide independent recommendations in order to strengthen the country's security, the President's Meda Division said in a press release.
A meeting with the President had been held at the Presidential Secretariat with the members of this special unit this afternoon.
