President to grant pardon to Sigiriya mirror wall scribbler
President Maithripala Sirisena is to grant a residential pardon today to Sinnathambi Utheny the girl who scribbled on the Sigiriya Mirror Wall with a sharp object, the government news portal reported.
Sinnathamby Utheny, a resident of Batticaloa was given a two-year jail term for damaging the Mirror Wall of Sri Lanka's Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a World Heritage Site.
Justice and Labour Reforms Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe was quoted as saying that President Maithripala Sirisena has signed the relevant documents yesterday to pardon the girl.
