President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to hold talks with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and several other government officials as he begins his state visit to Cambodia today (Aug 7).
Issuing a press release, the President's office said that the President had undertaken the four-day official visit in response to an invitation extended by the Cambodian government.
During his visit, Mr. Sirisena is also expected to engage in talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and other state officials in a bid to strengthen bilateral ties between both countries.
Matters concerning economy, trade, tourism, and the Buddhist faith would figure prominently during these discussions, the President's office said.
Mr. Sirisena is expected to grace the opening session of the Business Forum organized by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce today. He had been welcomed by a delegation including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace Kong Sam Ol.
