President Maithripala Sirisena will participate in the 69th anniversary celebrations of the United National Party tomorrow, Government Information Department said. It is the first time that a President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will participate at an event of the UNP. The anniversary celebrations will be held at the UNP headquarters Sirikotha under the patronage of UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe. Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will make a special announcement on the programme to be launched by the new government to uplift the country's economy.
Ajith Gallage, the owner of a Bird Park in Nagarawawa, Hambantota, has been remanded over allegations of concealing illegally imported motorcycles, in a warehouse owned by him.
