President Gotabaya Rajapaksa undertook a sudden visit to Colombo's National Hospital to look into the situation there.
The President visited the hospital's outpatient department and also spoke to patients about issues faced by them.
The President's Media Unit said the President met patients who had come from far away to the hospital as to why they had to come all the way to Colombo and the patients told the President about problems in hospitals outside Colombo.
President Rajapaksa also spoke to doctors and staff at the National Hospital about issues faced by them.
