Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who is currently on a tour of Finland met with the country's Prime Minister Juha Sipilä and agreed on a concrete pilot project in the field of wave energy in Sri Lanka.
At a meeting held at the residence of the Prime Minister of Finland in Helsinki, Finland yesterday, the Prime Ministers discussed their common commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries in the field of energy with a forward looking and a business- minded approach, a statement said.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe emphasised the important role of innovations in achieving national targets and international mitigation of climate change, enhancing energy efficiency and utilisation of clean and renewable energy technologies.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
