Private and public sector employees were also among those who have been identified as instigators of the recent violence in the North Western Province, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said today (May 15).
Accordingly, Police will take measures to notify the work places of such individuals and instruct employers to conduct an organisational level inquiry into these suspects, the Spokesman said in a special statement.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gunasekara also pointed out that there were issues pertaining to the daily duties of police officers since the Police Department had to deploy 5500 police officers in addition to Army personnel to control security in the country.
