Probe on jailor planning murder of prison official
The Prisons Department has ordered a probe on alleged plot by a jailor to kill a senior prison official with the help of a prisons inmate.
Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya said that the inquiry was launched after revelations that jailor had planned to kill the Prisons Superintendent of the Kuruwita prisons because he had transferred him to another prison on disciplinary grounds.
The jailor had had got the help of a prisons inmate of another jail known as Thilanga Rohitha Ramanayaka alias Ramanayaka Suddha to plan out the murder. In turn he had contracted two of his associates to plan the murder.
The Kuruwita police has already reported facts of the case to the Magistrate courts.
