Former provincial councillor Major (Rtd) Ajith Prasanna today (Dec 2) began a protest fast near the Swiss Embassy, demanding the embassy employee should give a statement to police regarding her alleged abduction.
The Swiss Embassy in Colombo, issuing a statement last week said the employee was unable to give evidence due to her "deteriorating health condition".
However, the Foreign Relations Ministry said the alleged victim “will have to be interviewed by the law enforcement authorities” and undergo a medical test to carry our further investigations.
This was after the Foreign Ministry claimed that investigations had shown a disparity between the series of incidents said to have taken place and the actual movements of the victim on the day of the abduction.
