The Public Service Commission (PSC) says that the Attorney General (AG)'s Department must conduct a preliminary inquiry on Solicitor General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe's alleged telephone conversation with Avant-Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi.
PSC Chairman Dharmasena Dissanayaka told Times Online that the Department should send a report of the inquiry and a draft charge sheet to the PSC to proceed with the relevant action.
The AG’s Coordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, last week, said that the AG's Department would seek a disciplinary inquiry on the incident through the PSC.
Former minister Keheliya Rambukwella, this week revealed a telephone recording alleged to have taken place between Ms. Wickremesinghe and Mr. Senadhipathi.
In the telephone recording, the individual believed to be Ms. Wickremesinghe regretted the action taken against the floating armory which is alleged to have caused massive losses to the government.
Against this backdrop, the former Bribery Commission Director General took to her Facebook page and said that the telephone conversation has been "distorted" and "edited".
