The public gallery which remained closed owing to security concerns during the previous parliamentary sessions will be re-opened today (May 07).
This was decided when the Committee on Parliamentary Business met with party leaders and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya yesterday.
Accordingly, visitors will be able to witness today's parliamentary debate on matters concerning national security.
The order paper for today's sessions was decided during yesterday's party leader's meeting at the parliamentary complex.
During the meeting, the Speaker had urged all lawmakers to engage in a responsible debate instead of spewing insults upon each other.
