The general public has been instructed to handover sharp weapons or objects along with uniforms similar to that of the Police and the Army to their nearest Police station.
Sharp weapons or objects which include swords and knives must be handed over to the nearest Police stations today (May 04) and tomorrow, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
However, objects such as knives which are used for domestic or justifiable purposes will not need to be handed over to the Police, he pointed out.
