Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne has filed an anticipatory bail application before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court seeking an injunction order preventing his arrest.
Previously, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested two persons who had made controversial statements about "white van" incidents during a media briefing with former minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne.
The Criminal Investigation Department, on a complaint lodged by the national organizer of Sinhalaye Organisation, Gangodawila Kumudu Pradeep Sanjeewa Perera, had commenced an investigation into a media briefing conducted by the former Health Minister along with the two suspects on November 10.
