Those leaving Western province for the upcoming Christmas/New Year holidays may be tested for coronavirus, as random antigen testing is presently being conducted at borders of the province, Dr. G. Sudath K.Dharmaratne, Deputy Director General (Laboratory Services) of the Health Ministry said.
Mobile units consisting of health and police officials will be stationed at Nittambuwa on Colombo-Kandy road, Salawa, Kosgama on the Avissawella-Colombo road and in Katunayake on the Colombo-Chilaw road.
Police earlier requested the public to have their business card or personal details written on a piece of paper to submit to health officials when requested.
