Former Prime Minister and UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Colombo remand prison at Welikada to see former minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, who is currently in remand custody.
According to reports the former minister is being held in the M ward of the prison.
According to prison sources, the former prime minister arrived at around 3.15 pm and spoke with MP Ranawaka for about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, several opposition MPs have visited the Colombo remand prison today as well.
