Ven Athuraliye Rathana Thera will undergo a medical test to determine whether he could be discharged from the Kandy hospital, Hospital Director Dr Saman Rathnayake said.
The health of the Thera who was admitted to the Kandy hospital after his hunger fast, is in a stable condition, Dr. Rathnayake explained.
He noted that the parliamentarian was treated for dehydration at the Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since he had not consumed food or water during the strike.
Ven. Rathana Thero had commenced a hunger fast demanding the resignation or removal of Rishad Bathiudeen from the post of Minister along with A.L.A.M Hizbullah and Azath Salley as Governors.
However, the fast was called off during the fourth day after both Governor's stepped down from their positions.
