The Road Development Authority (RDA) will commence a road development project worth Rs 30 million in the East next week, RDA Chairman Nihal Sooriyarachchi said.
Speaking to Times Online, the RDA chief explained that the project will be constructed on a loan obtained from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The project is expected to be completed within two years, Mr. Sooriyarachchi noted adding that the construction company will carry out maintainance activities of the project for five years.
He further said that the road stretch would span 850 kilometres and would cover several areas in the Eastern Province.
