Remembering Lakshman Kadirgamar
The tenth death anniversary of the late Lakshman Kadirgamar PC and Member of Parliament will be held at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) today at 5 30 pm.
The keynote address, titled the 'Art of nuance - Lakshman Kadirgamar: A Sri Lankan statesman' will be delivered by Dr. Radhika Coomaraswamy, international human rights advocate and former Under Secretary- General of the United Nations, Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict.
The highlight of the commemoration event will be the launch of 'The Cake that was Baked at Home,' written by his daughter, Ajita Kadirgamar and published by Vijitha Yapa Publications.
Meanwhile a small ceremony was held this morning to mark the death anniversary at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies.
