A report prepared by environmental organizations on the controversial issue of the resettlement within Wilpattu Sanctuary boundaries was presented to President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday at Presidential Secretariat.
At this occasion, President Sirisena assured that he would not let any person to damage the environment. He added he would take the final decision on the resettlement in related areas after he gets the reports from parties appointed by him to inquire into this issue.
Maha sanga presided by Ven Athuraliye Rathana Thero, environmentalists led by Mr. Jagath Gunawardena (Attorney at Law), representatives of Jathika Sanga Sammelanaya, Pivithuru Hetak and other environmental organizations were among those participated at this event.
