Robbers throw chili powder and escape with Rs.14.5 million

Two men robbed Rs.14.5 million in cash from a lorry transporting earnings of a private cigarette agency in Nuwara Eliya this morning.  

The money was being taken to be deposited at a bank when two men on a three-wheeler had blocked the path of the vehicle and thrown chili powder at the driver and an ageny employee who was carrying the bag containing the money. After throwing the chili powder, the suspects had allegedly grabbed the bag with the money and fled. 

Police have launched investigations to track down the suspects,
