The State University of Ruhuna will be closed indefinitely from 4 pm today after clashes which left a dozen people injured, the university management announced today (Jul 10).
Meanwhile, it is reported that the non-academic staff at the university had resigned from their positions at the university.
Security too has been tightened since today morning after a clash had taken place between students and non-academic staff at the university yesterday.
The incident had left 10 students, a non-academic staffer and a security officer injured. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Matara General Hospital.
