A Russian national who was capturing footage of the sea using a drone camera in Galle has been arrested today (May 09), police said.
It has been revealed that the suspect, a 32-year old, had arrived in the country on April 28 and was due to leave the country on May 11.
Police officers had arrested the suspect following a tip-off.
According to the police, the Russian national who works at a telecommunication company in his native country had captured video footage in order to use it for a commercial advertisement.
