The case filed against former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mihin Lanka Sajin Vass Gunawardana for causing unlawful losses to the airline while he functioned as its Chief Executive Officer will be taken up before the Colombo Chief Magistrates Court on June 28.
Charges have been levelled against Mr. Gunawaradana for unlawful losses worth Rs 883 million to Mihin Lanka by entering into an illegal agreement with another company in order to purchase machinery for the airport.
Meanwhile, Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne was informed today (Mar 29) that the defendants had filed preliminary objections in the case.
The Bribery Commission filed a lawsuit against the former Mihin Lanka CEO for causing these massive losses between 2008 and 2009.
