Minister Sajith Premadasa today (Sept 24) called on all those who had distanced themselves from the United National Party (UNP) to re-unite and engage in activities to develop the country.
Issuing a statement, Mr. Premadasa said he has observed that several individuals who had distanced themselves from the party due to conflicting opinions, are hoping to take part in efforts which would be favourable to the country
"Disagreements can be resolved through dialogue and are not a reason to sideline themselves (from the party)," he added.
Accordingly, Mr. Premadasa requested all UNP members in local authorities and provincial councils along with party activists, to join hands and contribute towards winning the upcoming elections.
He also called on former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake to join his efforts to build the country.
Minister Sajith Premadasa is among the candidates vying to be nominated as the UNP's presidential candidate, along with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremsinghe and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
