Applications under the scheme of "Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children [SPDC]” which has been implemented by Indian government since 2006-07 called for the academic year of 2019-2020, the High Commission of India, Colombo announced. The assistance is provided to the Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indian (NRIs) for pursuing Undergraduate courses in Indian Universities/Institutes.
Students belong to this category from Sri Lanka are also eligible for this Scholarship, under which they are entitled to get financial assistance to pursue both professional and non- Professional courses (except Medical/Paramedical), only fresh Students (I year) are eligible to apply. Students who have studied their higher secondary courses in India are not eligible for this Scholarship.
