All schools will be closed on November 15 (Friday) in line with the upcoming presidential election, the Education Ministry announced today.
Issuing a statement, the Ministry explained that this decision had been made upon a request made by the Election Commission, to utilise schools as polling or counting centres.
Accordingly, the statement noted that all schools would be handed over to Grama Niladhari offices after school hours on November 14.
The ministry released a list of schools that will be used as counting centres for the presidential election which will be held on November 16.
