An Air Force helicopter was deployed to douse a fire which had erupted once again at the Kalbuvitiyana forest atop a mountain range in Neluwa today (Apr 05).
Measures were taken by the Air Force to douse the fire which had broken out at one side of the mountain on April 03.
However, the fire has now begun spreading across the other side of the range, the Air Force said.

The Ministry of Environment has taken steps to declare an additional 50 forests as protected reserves, Under the ’Wanaspati’ National Programme.
