Three police officers have been suspended over the escape of a female suspect who was in custody in Hikkaduwa, Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
Accordingly, a Police Constable and two police inspectors were suspended following the escape.
The suspect was taken into custody over the possession of two grams of Heroin.
The police have dispatched two teams to apprehend the fugitive.
