Three prison officials who were arrested for being drunk while escorting a group of prison inmates have been suspended from their services, the Prisons Department said.
The prison officials who were arrested by the Police have been identified as a jailer, Sergeant, and a Controller of Prisons.
They were apprehended for being drunk while escorting a group of prisoners from the Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa prisons to the Welikada Prison on April 01.
