Severe earthslip in Ohiya

An severe earthslip has occurred just behind Ohiya train station in Badulla along the Welimanda-Weralanda Road. The road is being used as a way to travel to Horton Plains. 

While the road has now been cleared, police have warned motorists to avoid using the road to travel to Horton Plains as heavy rain and strong winds are still prevalent in the area, meaning that a threat of a fresh earthslip persists.
