The south-western region of the country is likely to experience showery and windy conditions from today (Jul 17) until July 19, the Meteorological Department said today.
Certain areas in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts are expected to receive heavy rainfall upto about 100 mm as well.
The Meteorological Department's weather forecast also predicted fairly strong winds between 40-50 kmph across the Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces and along the North-western coastal areas.
Showers or thundershowers could also be experienced at times in several areas across the country, the forecast noted.
