Several spells of showers will occur at WesternandSabaragamuwaprovinces and in Galle and Matara districts, Department of Meteorology said in its today's weather forecast. Cloudy skies can be expected at south western part of the island.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at Central and Uva provinces and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy falls (above 50 mm) are expected at some places, Particularly in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Fairly strong gusty winds (40-50 kmph)can be expected over Northern half of the island.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
