SI arrested for soliciting bribe of Rs. 300,000
A sub-inspector attached to Bandarawela Police was arrested today (6) by Bribery Commission officials for soliciting a bribe of Rs. 300,000 from a suspect.
The SI in return has promised the suspect that he would make him a state witness in a case to be heard in court, Investigation Unit Head of the Bribery Commission, SSP Padmini Weerasuriya said.
