A SIM card has been seized from a prisoner while being transferred from the Welikada prison to Agunukolapelessa yesterday (Aug 25).
The recovery had been made during a search carried out at the entry point to the Agunukolapelessa prison.
According to the police, the SIM had been concealed inside a piece of paper wrapped with polythene.
The prisoner has been handed over to the prisons police for action.
