President Maithripala Sirisena has held talks with his Russian counterpart on measures which must be taken regarding US sanctions imposed on certain Russian products exported to Sri Lanka.
The meeting had taken place yesterday (Jun 15) on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit in Tajikistan, President’s media said in a press release.
During the discussion, Mr. Sirisena had also invited Russian Presdient Vladimir Putin to visit Sri Lanka in near future, the release noted.
Both state leaders had also discussed steps which must be taken to strengthen bilateral ties between both countries.
