Six Indian nationals who attempted to smuggle gold valued at Rs 14 million have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport today (Aug 2).
The suspects had been arrested with two kilograms of gold when they had attempted to board a flight to Chennai. Nearly a kilo of jewellery had been concealed inside their body.
Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)'s unit at the airport had apprehended the suspects.
